North East Link Project
The North East Link will deliver 6.5km tunnels that link Melbourne's freeway network, and upgrades to the Eastern Freeway and M80 Ring Road. Spark engaged pitt&sherry as Temporary Works Designer and Proof Engineer for the project.
Background
The North East Link is made up of 3 major road projects - 6.5km tunnels that link Melbourne's freeway network, and upgrades to the Eastern Freeway and M80 Ring Road.
What we did
Spark engaged pitt&sherry as Temporary Works Designer and Proof Engineer, co-locating in the project office to complete designs to enable works to commence on site including:
- D-wall Guide walls
- D-wall cage lifting
- Site Offices & covered walkways
- Road Plates & trench shields
- Formwork & falseworks
- Road re-alignment and cross-overs
- Hardstands
pitt&sherry also undertook Site Establishment design for the Manningham site including flood bunds and site drainage, and Winsor Reserve including 6m high noise walls, 4m high retaining walls, and spoil bins for storage of Tunnel Boring Machine (TBM) spoil.
We have also completed Proof Engineering for significant structures including:
- Greensborough Rd Conveyor Bridge
- TBM Conveyor structure
- Stormwater drainage diversion
- Temporary Retaining walls and Soil Nail walls
- Tower Crane foundations
- Spoil Shed erection
- TBM False Ring demolition
- Batching plant establishment
pitt&sherry continue to be a key temporary works consultant for the project and are engaged across all sites and work fronts as a Designer, Design Checker or Proof Engineer.
