Background

The Warringah Freeway Upgrade and Western Harbour Tunnel aims to improve the way people travel across Sydney Harbour.

CPBDTI JV engaged pitt&sherry as temporary works designer for the $1.2B, Warringah Freeway Upgrade, which forms part of the Western Harbour Tunnel enabling works.

What we did

The project involves widening of the existing freeway, upgrades to on-off ramps and construction of additional bridges.

pitt&sherry’s scope has focussed on Structural and Geotechnical engineering including:

  • Sign gantry relocations
  • Temporary carparks
  • Temporary bridge propping
  • Temporary service supports
  • Underground service checks (flexible and concrete pipes)
  • Temporary sign structures
  • Temporary ramps and piling platforms
  • Temporary retaining walls
